Privacy policy

This notice explains what personal data Trafiico collects, why we collect it, how long we keep it and the rights you have under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Data controller

Trafiico is operated as an independent editorial publication based in Bristol, United Kingdom. The data controller for the purposes of UK GDPR is the publisher of Trafiico, contactable at [email protected].

What we collect

• Essential technical data — your IP address, browser type and pages requested. Used solely to deliver the site and detect abuse.
• Consent state — the choices you make in the age gate and cookie banner, stored in your browser's local storage on your device.
• Optional analytics — only collected with your active consent via the cookie banner. We use aggregated page-view counts to understand which reviews readers find useful.
• Correspondence — if you email [email protected] we retain your message so we can reply and keep a record of the exchange.

Lawful basis

We rely on the following lawful bases under Article 6 UK GDPR:

• Legitimate interests — operating, securing and improving the site (essential technical data, anti-abuse logging).
• Consent — optional analytics and any non-essential cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time via the cookie banner.
• Legal obligation — where we must respond to a lawful request from a regulator or law-enforcement body.

Retention

Server access logs are retained for no longer than 30 days. Aggregated analytics, if you have consented, are retained for up to 14 months. Email correspondence is retained for 24 months after the last reply unless a longer period is required for a legitimate reason.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We do not share personal data with operators we review. Where we use third-party processors (for example, a hosting provider) they act only on our documented instructions and are subject to written processing agreements.

Outbound links

When you click through to an operator's site you leave Trafiico and become subject to that operator's own privacy notice. Trafiico does not control and is not responsible for the processing of personal data by third-party sites.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to be informed, the right of access, the right to rectification, the right to erasure, the right to restrict processing, the right to data portability, the right to object, and rights related to automated decision-making and profiling. Trafiico does not carry out automated decision-making with legal or significant effects.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within one calendar month. If you are dissatisfied with our response you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Changes

We will update this notice when our processing changes materially. The 'Updated' date above reflects the most recent revision.
